Hell-O Glee

Ok, so I managed to (patiently) wait until today to watch Glee and after all the hype and excitement (mostly on my part), I have to say I’m a little disappointed. What with all of the untied ropes they left us with at the end of season one part one they seem to have killed all hope and gone back to the start. Although now it reeks of a show that now has a bigger budget (and knows it has a massive following).

I was pleased however to spot a guest appearance from Idina Menzal, the wife of Taye Diggs from Private Practice and How Stella Got Her Groove Back and the original, brilliant star of Wicked, who rightly deserved her Tony Award. Let’s face it, Rachel (Lea Michele) clearly looks like Idina, sings like Idina, and when she sang Defying Gravity she just plain right wanted to be Idina.

I only wish that they relived Defying Gravity, or at least let Idina sing.

I am however holding out my hopes for The Power of Madonna, roll on next Monday…

Madonna Gleek 2

Ok, sorry to go on about Glee AGAIN, but after seeing this amazing recreation of Vogue with Sue Sylvester, aka Suedonna I just had to post a link. Sue is by far the best character in Glee, and if you love Jane Lynch who plays her then check her other fantastic roles in Role Models and 40 Year Old Virgin.

And that’s “how Sue C’s it”!

Madonna Gleek

Glee is back in the US tonight and the promotional shoot for TV Guide sums up what we can expect. We all know Madonna is a fan of the show, and not only has she allowed the cast to sing one of her songs, she has let them create an album of eight classic Madonna songs.

I can’t wait to see the next episode, and doubt that Sue will actually dress up as Madonna with the classic cone bra, but I love the picture none the less!
Which is your favourite Madonna Gleek?

From Superman to Chuck

I've recently started watching(and quickly caught up with) Chuck. It is a show that I missed when it first started here in the UK, but admit the catalyst that made me finally stop to watch it was the fact that not one, but two Superman related actors where guest starring in season three - Kristen Kreuk (Lana Lang, Smallville) and Brandon Routh (Clark Kent/Superman, Superman Returns).

What a brilliant show Chuck is. Towards the end of season two I started to think they cannot keep up this "I am a Nerd Herd with CIA intelligence in my brain that I am trying to remove" up for another season, but they managed a new twist on it. The geek that is Chuck, is not so nerdy now as he is growing into a real life spy, with constant will they/won't they drama with his handler Sarah.

So many shows are trying to be the next Lost, and let’s face it, after the first season (or half a season in the case of Flash Forward) they always disappoint. Chuck is an example of a show that has developed great characters and a great story. It keeps the audience guessing without the drama of "what the polar bears all about?!!!" Not to mention the fantastic support cast. I loved Adam Baldwin in Firefly, and he doesn’t disappoint as the grumpy, grunting Agent Casey and Chuck's over excited friend Morgan.

I can’t wait to see what will happen with Chuck next.
